Be true to yourself first.

Life will always set up a few roadblocks to delay our planned routes, that is the way things are quite simply. In the end we can’t think of a barrier as a hindrance, but a sign to pick up a new skill, or change a thought pattern.

There is never anything wrong with going back to college for a class that might help you in your career of choice.

There is never anything wrong with a critique of your mannerisms, or a scrutiny of a weak point. With every high there has to be a low to go along with it.

We will never stop learning, because the world will never stop evolving.

Perseverance trumps barriers.

Taking in The Day

We can't get enough sunlight and outdoor motivation. Hiking, outdoor sports, just taking in the day is impoertant to a persons health.

According to Deborah Kotz who wrote a recent US News and World Report artical there are a "Host of Health Benefits Attributed to Sunlight" including better sleep and a more positive outlook. The artical went deeper stating "Natural daylight helps shut off your body's production of melatonin, a hormone produced at night that makes you drowsy."

What dose this mean for a designer? Getting away from the computer and into the real world once and awile will stimulate our ideas and generate new ones.

Personally I took a picture day, and put together a nice XHTML/CSS website,"Wisconsin Photography" to showcase a few of the better shots. This burst of creativity led to few new ideas for differnt websites that I have been working on as well as development of my own personal marketing site.

Painted Avatars For A Personal Touch

I just read a Trendhunter blog post with an interesting idea, Custom Painted Avatar Portraits for your profiles; this is a cool idea that is easy for anyone in the Arts field looking for something different.

Imagine a vibrant avatar with an old style oil painted look, or a different approach with a Picasso look. Happiness gives a person inner strength and personal security. People find themselves dragging dead end jobs around for years; they find themselves shackled by stress and depression that affects their co-workers as well as their families.
